Cairo to Luxor

Days 4-7

Aboard Your Luxury Nile Cruiser in Luxor Today you will board the Sonesta Star Goddess in time for lunch on board. You'll explore Luxor and the many temples and important sites along the Nile on the way to Aswan. Luxor was the capital of the New Kingdom for 500 years in the second millennium B.C. and contains superb creations of ancient Egypt. Thebes on the West Bank contains the tombs of successive Kings and Queens. Karnak on the East Bank covers over 100 acres of temples and sculptures representing over 1,000 years of construction. Aswan to Abu Simbel
When Kipling saw the statues of Ramses II floodlit by the rising sun he felt that they would tear themselves free and leap forth to heaven knows what sort of vengeance." Day 9-10

Cairo-Mummies, Souks and Copts
Visit the renowned Egyptian Museum, which houses many spectacular treasures of Tutankhamun. You will also tour the Mummy Room of the museum. The next day, tour of the highlights of Islamic and Coptic Cairo. Lunch at Naguib Mahfous Restaurant.
